Lighthouse Inn Fire, March 15, 2006 On March 15, 2006, the landmark Lighthouse on Solomons Island burned to the ground along with Bowen's Inn located next door.

Hurricane Katrina, August 2005 Katrina was one of the worst storms to his the US mainland in years. While southern Maryland was not damaged, many residents traveled to the Gulf Coast to render assistance to the needy. Their photos are posted here.
